Join Denny and Write for the Den
Got Opinions? Good. Let’s Hear ’Em:
Not everything worth saying fits on a t-shirt. The Den is opening the floor to students, alumni, and anyone with something worth putting into words. Whether it’s a take, a story, a respectful/relevant rant, or something in between, we’re looking for voices that actually have something to say.
If you’ve got strong opinions, sharp humor, or a perspective people should hear, we want to elevate that voice.
What We’re Looking For:
Purdue takes (sports, campus life, traditions, etc.);
Hot takes, debates, and opinion pieces;
Stories, experiences, and commentary;
Humor, satire, and creative content;
If it’s interesting, original, and sounds good, it’s on the table. It doesn’t need to be the next great American novel, just some of your inner-most incredible thoughts.
Why Write for the Den:
Get Seen: Your work gets in front of a built-in Purdue audience that actually pays attention, and usually has a lot of feedback to share while pretending to pay attention during lecture.
Build Your Voice: Maybe you’re a funny person who needs an audience or maybe you just enjoy writing and want to expand your portfolio. Regardless, this is a platform where you could put your perspective out there.
Be Part of the Den: This isn’t a random blog. We’re a 40+ year old apparel shop and convenience store…which, after saying out loud, we’re not sure if that helps or hurts our case.
Why not write for the Den? (* slams Uno Reverse-Card down *)
Unlike that One Club, We Have 3 Rules (So Far, So Don’t Ruin It):
Don’t be boring.
Make us laugh, think, or argue (preferably all three).
Try not to be mean.
